The challenge
The wall dividing the kitchen and living room was load-bearing, and the original layout left the kitchen cramped, dark, and short on counter space.
Our solution
We engineered a flush structural beam to carry the load, relocated plumbing and electrical for the new island, and ran a continuous wide-plank floor through both rooms to make the space feel twice as open.
